Former FWS Directors Urge Federal Employees to Support the Refuge Association

Six former Directors of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, who served under Presidents Carter, George H.W. Bush, Clinton, George W. Bush, and Obama, released a letter to current and former Service staff members urging them to consider supporting the National Wildlife Refuge Association through the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC).

CFC is the official workplace giving program for federal employees and provides an important way for civil servants to support charities that support the common good.

The letter points out that the Refuge Association has been, “… a strong and independent voice for our National Wildlife Refuge System but also partners and coastal programs, international affairs, law enforcement, migratory birds, and endangered species, ” highlighting the programs supported by the Refuge Association in addition to the Refuge System.

The joint message marks a show of solidarity between leaders who served both Republican and Democratic administrations and reminds us that while our nation can be divided on many issues, wildlife conservation brings us all together.
