Garden of the Glades:
A Week At Conservation Ranger Camp
Garden of the Glades: A Week at Conservation Ranger Camp is a 30-minute documentary film following summer camp students at A.R.M Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge. Family, friends, and the Glades community are invited to watch the film for the first time.
Created in partnership with refuge staff and StandFirm Outreach, the Conservation Ranger Camp provides young people between the ages of 16-20 with a free, week-long immersive experience of all aspects of wildlife refuge management and conservation-related careers
From archery to catching invasive frogs, participants learn what it takes to preserve and protect our most vital natural landscapes and local wildlife. Speakers from multiple state and federal agencies join the program to talk about career paths that include everything from fire management to law enforcement. The documentary captures the hopes, dreams, and unforgettable experiences of our inaugural class of Conservation Rangers as they slog through the sawgrass, find sea turtle nests on a pristine beach, and even hook their first fish!
