Michael J. Baldwin, Chair
Mike Baldwin is an Emeritus Board member of the βDingβ Darling Wildlife Society, the Friends of the Refuge group that supports the J. N. βDingβ Darling National Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel Island, FL. He previously served as a President of the Society and as Co-Chair of the Everglades Coalition, an alliance of over sixty local, state and national conservation and environmental organizations dedicated to full restoration of the greater Everglades ecosystem.
Mike retired in 1999 as Vice-President, Technology Support, for Millennium Petrochemical after a 31-year career in the chemical industry. He served as a member of the executive management team of Millennium and, in prior years, of Dow Chemical Canada and Dow Chemical Latin America. He subsequently, and until year-end 2013, acted as a senior management consultant on improving safety and environmental performance in the chemical and energy industries.
Mike is a past Council Commissioner for the Boy Scouts of America in both Greater Cincinnati and Fort Myers, FL. He holds a BS in Chemistry from the University of Sheffield (England) and a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Alberta (Canada). Having lived in Sanibel for twenty years, he and his wife, Terry, relocated in 2019 to the nearby Shell Point Retirement Community in Fort Myers.
