The National Wildlife Refuge Association is dedicated to protecting, promoting, and enhancing the National Wildlife Refuge System. A key component of enhancing the Refuge System can be found through powerful partnerships.
This month, we are highlighting our partnership with Partners for Conservation, an all-volunteer non-profit group established in 2008. In 2012, we recognized this group of ranchers and landowners were filling an important void in public-private partnerships and the importance of communication and collaboration in working landscapes. The Refuge Association provided the initial funding for an executive director position to help them grow as an organization.
This partnership is an excellent example of working beyond the boundaries of national wildlife refuges to enhance habitat conservation and a land management ethic that benefits working families and wildlife. We continue to provide support to this day. To learn more about how PFC has grown and their work listen to the first episode of Season 3 of our Refuge Radio podcast below!
