Invite Your Congress Members for a Visit!

Congress will be on their five-week summer recess starting August 3, and this is a perfect time for Friends to invite their members of Congress to visit their refuge or hatchery.

We encourage you to invite your Congress members and/or their staff to your refuge or hatchery or to schedule district office meetings. Here’s your chance to show them what makes your site special, explain issues and challenges affecting your site, and tell them how Congress can help address these issues. Congress listens to their constituents, and they listen to Friends. To assist you in your advocacy efforts, CORFA and the National Wildlife Refuge Association (NWRA) have created a 2024 Recess Action Kit that will give you the tools you need to effectively meet with your members of Congress.
